You talk to me of lies,
But all the things you say about me,
Things I know with certainty,
Aren’t true,
Show me that the real liar is you!
I’m not immoral,
Not at all,
Nor do I secretly believe.
You talk to me of lies,
But all the things you say about me,
Things I know with certainty,
Aren’t true,
Show me that the real liar is you!
But then I learned about the much more serious human tragedy that ensued
Two videos…
This week saw yet another in a very long line 0f failed raptures. There have been prophets and other assorted scoundrels promising apocalyptic rhapsodies since before that ancient Pharaoh had his minions put the first sandstone blocks together like ancient lego-based experiments in geometry.
At first I thought this was just another amusing interlude. Another crank claiming to know the end was nigh. That was my attitude when I posted this video…
But then I learned about the much more serious human tragedy that ensued. So I made this…
A night cursed by Bacardi
And a man she barely knew,
Ruining her potential,
Her career already through…
Who would condemn this poor young girl?
Limit her future, her world,
‘Cause on a night cursed by Bacardi
And a man she barely knew,
She fell pregnant with a zygote,
That has nothing
To do
With you!
Christians claim to believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and yet they usually can’t even be bothered to read what it says.
Christians claim to believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and yet they usually can’t even be bothered to read what it says. Surely if they really believed it was inspired by the most powerful (and interested) being in the universe – the Deity with the power over their eternal souls they might find the time to see what it actually says! I know I did when I was a believer.
I’m an atheist. That doesn’t make me your enemy. Please stop lying about me.
I’m an atheist. That doesn’t make me your enemy. It just means I’m not convinced that your God is real. It’s a difference of opinion. That’s all there is to it. Please stop lying about me.
I tried again to understand Aaron Fauth’s views.
I had another attempt at understanding Aaron Fauth’s views on God, atheists, the universe and, of course ‘The source’.
My debate with a man who seems to be a cross between an animist and a deist.
About a week ago Aaron Fauth issued a challenge on Facebook

I was happy to accept the challenge, if only because I was intrigued by his complete misunderstanding of atheism and of atheists in general.
I invited him to join me in a discussion with the two basic conditions I always include:
This video is the result of our recent online conversation. What’s your opinion? Did Aaron live up to his challenge?
The God of Abraham’s not a shit,
He’s just a myth that doesn’t fit,
The modern world because we know
Too much.
I wondered how I could have been so blind
Genocide and slavery
Gaslighting and rape
All sanctioned, even ordered
By this God of perfect love
Arbitrary punishments
Capricious twists of fate
Hypocrisy, failed prophecy,
Sadism and hate!
The devaluing of woman
Only useful when they breed
A receptacle for callous
Selfish men to sew their seed
And I realised in trembling fear
Shredding many a heartfelt tear
That this hateful God was far from good
No one with integrity could
Support its vile crimes
The superficial nonsense that passes for morality in the Christian worldview just won’t cut it in the real world of human distress and actual desperation.
Having spent the last 30 odd years of my life dealing with ACTUAL suicidal people – not the imaginary ‘armchair’ kind Dennis seems to be thinking of – I just had to respond.
The superficial nonsense that passes for morality in the Christian worldview just won’t cut it in the real world of human distress and actual desperation. The fact that Christian doctrine can add insult to injury so callously is just one more piece of evidence to demonstrate how utterly broken and immoral the Christian worldview truly is!
You invalidate humanity, Personify hypocrisy,
As hymn by hymn, And prayer by prayer,
You smugly sit, In your armchair,
While others do the work you claim,
Can only happen in your Jesus’ name.
Have you no shame?
You say I can’t be moral without God, ‘Cause I don’t pray.
Wittering about “Where the saints have trod”, Or so you say.
Denying my compassion, Like it’s going out of fashion,
You invalidate humanity, Personify hypocrisy,
As hymn by hymn, And prayer by prayer,
You smugly sit, In your armchair,
While others do the work you claim,
Can only happen in your Jesus’ name.
Have you no shame?
