Part 2 with Jonathan

It is my belief, which I told Jonathan several times throughout the discussion, that he simply is not equipped for this type of discussion.

This is both the longest and the most infuriating conversation I’ve had with a Christian. It’s definitely what you might think of as ‘long form’. It is my belief, which I told Jonathan several times throughout the discussion, that he simply is not equipped for this type of discussion. I have advised him to learn the basics of his religion and to actually read his Bible.

In the second half he demonstrates his utter contempt for anyone who doesn’t agree with him, his dismissal of any notion of equal rights and just how much he deserves the rarely applied (but in this case very well deserved) label of ‘Christofascist’.

His misogyny, racism, homophobia and xenophobia are expressed with a smug pride that has to be seen to be believed.

If we give people like Jonathan an inch they’ll drag us all straight back to the bronze age!

Discussion with Luke, an American Christian

Luke and I don’t see eye to eye on very much but we do show that it’s possible to discuss and argue, passionately at times and still remain cordial and genial at the end.

This is a discussion/debate with Luke Villareal, an American Christian. We had a few technical problems resulting in fairly poor video quality on my end and no image at all from Luke. However that beats our first attempt during which we couldn’t get anything to record at all.

The rule was that we both get to record it and we both can publish it online as we see fit but without any edits. There is one small edit in the original where I cut out about a minute of ‘dead air’ whilst I attended to my dog. Other than that the video is completely unedited.

Luke and I don’t see eye to eye on very much but we do show that it’s possible to discuss and argue, passionately at times and still remain cordial and genial at the end. Let us know in the comments what you thought of the points raised and especially let us know if either Luke or I managed to change your mind about anything.

Discussing God and atheism with a Calvinist presup

Ryan Matus is a presuppositional, Calvinist Christian. He’s no fool and he certainly knows scripture. This online conversation was one of the most interesting and enjoyable I can remember and I’m certainly looking forward to talking more with Ryan.

Chicken or egg?

Come on then, Col… Let’s ‘ave yer!

An old mate of mine challenged me yesterday to make a video which, I think I correctly discerned was a challenge to evolutionary theory. It’s difficult to be sure because all he said was “chicken or egg” in a thread that had nothing to do with evolution and when I suggested that’s what he meant he replied only “do it”.

I’m pretty sure he’s just trolling. I suspect he’s not really a creationist but hey ho, I may be wrong. The deal is we debate it next Sunday.

My suggestion is via zoom with both recording it and both free to publish, unedited wherever we like. 6pm OK for you, Col?
